Program description: The Undergraduate Program provides students with the analytical skills to succeed in today's job market. Students learn how to analyze and evaluate important trade-offs that our society must face in resolving land, water, natural resource and other environmental and economic conflicts. Courses promote active classroom discussion about practical policy approaches, and their impacts on various groups in society. Resource and applied economics are related by their very nature. Accordingly, students are encouraged to take courses in physical and social sciences, as well as the core economic theory and methods.
The interdisciplinary structure of the program results from a problem-oriented approach. Graduates of our programs are in the unique position of being able to communicate with policy makers, natural scientists and the general public about problems of common concern.
