Program description: The Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree program is an interdisciplinary professional studio offering within the Department of Art. The program accepts applications for degree candidates via a yearly portfolio/application process. Since its inception in 1997, the BFA program has been in place to provide the greatest level of undergraduate, professional preparation for exceptional art students. The intent is to fully prepare these students to be either accepted into graduate schools or to enter society as practicing artists. Students accepted into the program come from all disciplines within the Department of Art (Drawing/Painting, Ceramics, Photography/Videography, Sculpture, Digital Media and Printmaking). There are generally 12 to 15 students in the program at any given time. As the program is interdisciplinary by design, students work to explore their creative development in an atmosphere that encourages cross-discipline activities and engagement.
