Program description: The Mining Engineering Department offers an accredited degree, which provides opportunities to work for mining companies, government agencies, consulting groups, construction and tunneling contractors, etc. The curriculum is designed to produce engineers well versed in all aspects of a vital industry supplying the raw materials for society, ranging from road aggregate to diamonds. The curriculum provides the essential knowledge to design, permit, build, operate, and reclaim a mine in an environmentally acceptable manner, anywhere in the world.
