Program description: NRES offers a Master of Science degree that emphasizes both an integrated approach to the study of natural resources and rigorous training in specific fields of study. Disciplinary expertise in the department includes environmental science, wildlife ecology and management, conservation biology, forest and rangeland management, landscape ecology, hydrology, aquatic ecology, soil science, and fire ecology. Students at the master's level develop an analytical understanding of the biophysical and socio-behavioral aspects of natural resource use and environmental problem-solving. Through course work, research, and fieldwork graduate students develop the scientific understanding, theoretical perspectives, and professional skills needed to become effective and innovative administrators, policy makers, resource managers, researchers, or educators.
