Undergraduate Programs
It is not uncommon for undergraduate students to have a strong interest in the environment, but not know what major would best fit their talents and support their career goals. This section of the Academy for the Environment's website is intended to help new and continuing students learn more about the many different undergraduate majors offered at the University of Nevada that have a focus on the environment.
For each of the departmental links listed on this page, we provide a brief overview of the environmentally-oriented major they offer, the departmental website address, and contact information. We believe you will be surprised at the large number of environmental programs from which you can choose. Our environmental programs include majors in the biological and physical sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences and arts. We encourage you to carefully review the information provided by the departments that offer these majors and familiarize yourself with the curriculum required by each.
We hope that after reviewing the many options you have available to you at UNR, you will find a major that closely matches both your personal interests and academic goals. However, if you have any questions, please contact us at environment@unr.edu.
